KickBacks: What's the difference between the various models?
Current kickstands
KickBack 3
- How it works: It clamps onto the bike frame with custom U-bolts and uses an external spring to retract. The KickBack body and legs are one continuous pipe that can be cut to a custom fit and finished with tube end caps. Riders can mount the bike while the KickBack is engaged and can then roll the bike forward to kick back the KB. If your KB3 is having difficulty kicking back, try loosening and lubricating the axis bolts. The KB3 comes 13" tall (from leg base the bottom of the mounting plate) and can be cut down to the needed height.
- Available colors: black.
- Width of KB legs: roughly 16" (tapers to a more narrow width the closer to the plate you cut the legs)
- Bikes it will work on: Swoop/eSwoop, Stoker/eStoker, Classic/eClassic, any model LT1 or LT2 EdgeRunner, FreeRadical (with a Radaptor), FreeRadical Leap, Cargo Node, Cargo Joe (with a Radaptor), Radish (with a Radaptor).
- Bikes it will not work on: RFA Utility, RFA Sport.
- Availability: The KickBack 3 is currently available. You can find it here. You can also find the installation manual linked under the "User Manual" section.
RFA KickBack
- How it works: It clamps onto the bike frame with custom U-bolts and uses an external spring to retract. The KickBack body and legs are one continuous pipe that is more narrow towards the frame but flares out at the ends for a wider stance. Rubber feet protect the leg ends. Riders can mount the bike while the RFA KickBack is engaged and can then roll the bike forward to kick back the legs.
- Available colors: black.
- Bikes it will work on: RFA Utility, Shimano or Bosch. (Please note: this kickstand will not work on the RFA Sport).
- Bikes it will not work on: All other Xtracycle models, new and retired.
- Availability: The RFA KickBack is currently available. You can find it here. You can also find the installation manual linked under the "User Manual" section.

Please note: This is not an Xtracycle made kickstand. This stand is made by Ursus and it only comes stock on the RFA (Bosch).

- Available colors: black.
- Width of kickstand legs: roughly 18".
- Bikes it will work on: RFA Utility, RFA Sport.

Retired kickstands
KickBack 2 (retired)
- How it works: It bolts onto the bike frame on a specific mounting bracket found only on 2015 model year LT2 EdgeRunners and Cargo Nodes. The spring is internally encased. The KickBack body and legs are separate parts. The legs can be cut on the insertion end and tightened to the KickBack body with clamp bolts. Riders must be off the bike to kick back the KB and can only mount the bike once it is fully retracted.
- Available colors: black or silver body with black legs.
- Width of KB legs: roughly 12" (tapers to a more narrow width the further the legs are inserted into the frame)
- Bikes it will work on: 2015 model year LT2 EdgeRunners, Cargo Node.
- Bikes it will not work on: Swoop/eSwoop, Classic/eClassic, Stoker/eStoker, RFA, LT1 EdgeRunners, FreeRadical, FreeRadical Leap, Radish, Cargo Joe.
- Availability: The KickBack 2 is no longer in production and has been retired.

KickBack 1 (retired)
- How it works: KickBack axles, U-tubes or WideLoaders insert through the KickBack axis point (with the word "relax" printed on them in this image). This is the point at which they pivot and a custom plastic shim helps in the ease of pivot. An external elastic strap attaches to the KB and the bike frame to allow for the KB to retract. The KickBack body and legs are separate parts. The legs can be cut on the insertion end and tightened to the KickBack body with clamp bolts. Riders can mount the bike while the KickBack is engaged and can then roll the bike forward to kick back the KB.
- Available colors: silver body with black legs.
- What bikes it will work on: LT1 EdgeRunners, FreeRadical, Cargo Joe, Radish.
- What bikes it will not work on: Swoop/eSwoop, Classic/eClassic, Stoker/eStoker, RFA, FreeRadical Leap, 2015 model year LT2 EdgeRunners, Cargo Node.
- Availability: The KickBack 1 is no longer in production and has been retired.
