Bosch drive unit and battery comparison charts
Bosch drive unit comparison
Quite simply, the CX motor can deliver more power than the Speed motor (up to 75 Nm for the CX vs 63 Nm for the Speed), while the Speed motor has a higher top speed (28 MPH for the Speed vs 20 MPH for the CX). In addition the CX motor has eMTB mode which automatically adjusts the level of assist based on how hard the rider pushes on the pedals. The CX motor will be best for most riders, and the Speed motor is best for experienced cyclists who prefer to ride faster than 20 MPH.

Bosch battery best practice
Lithium-ion batteries are not only light, they also have a long service life. Bosch PowerPacks are designed for many tours, distances and years of use. However, a precise life span is impossible to forecast. The battery’s service life will depend mainly on the nature and duration of the stress to which it is subjected. Here are some tips for best maintenance and practice:
- Store the battery in a dry environment and protect it from direct sunlight at a room temperature of around 59°F (15°C) to 68°F (20°C).
- Ideally, recharge the battery at room temperature.
- The ideal charging level for a battery is between 30% and 60%.
- When transporting an eBike, remove the battery from the bike and store it safely in the car.
