DropoutsCustom, forged vertical Xtracycle dropouts for excellent durability and stiffness. (What about singlespeeds and internal hubs?)
BrakesThe FreeRadical has disc-brake mounts (for a 203mm rotor) and brake bosses for linear pull brakes (also known as V-brakes). If your bike doesn’t already have either of those, they can be purchased from your local bike shop or ordered from us. More info about brakes.
WeightThe FreeRadical base frame weighs approximately 5 pounds. Accessories weigh roughly a pound each, e.g. 2 FreeLoaders plus 2 V-racks equals 4 pounds.
WheelbaseThe FreeRadical adds 15” to your bicycle’s wheelbase. On an average mountain bike, this equates to approximately 58” overall wheelbase.
FootprintThe FreeRadical-equipped bicycle can be stood on end against the wall in cramped apartments, taking up less room than a regular bike.
Payload CapacityGenerally limited by your imagination, legs, and the strength of your rear wheel. Rated to 150lbs total cargo weight.

KickstandComes standard. Durable, high quality aluminum.
CablesHigh quality cables (stainless steel) and housings with Avid Roll-a-majig™ for smooth & reliable shifting. Included.
Chain30” of KMC 8-spd chain comes standard and is the precise length needed to extend your original chain. Other types and lengths available when required.
FendersThe FreeRadical has fender eyelets behind each dropout and at the front of the wheel well.
FreeLoadersCoated, durable nylon. Water resistant, but not intended to be waterproof. Intended to hold waterproof dry bags in wet weather or touring situations.
SnapDeckSilkscreened Oak, Ash and/or Maple laminate. Not weather resistant.
HardwareStainless Steel throughout for rust protection and strength.
RacksAluminum 6061-6 Hard-Anodized tubing for durable, light-weight, modular utility.
